| Corporal Kivlehan was a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regimant, 24th Division. While in a truck convoy on July 19, 1950 one mile south of Taejon, South Korea, he was ambushed and captured. Cpl. Kivlehan was shot on November 3, 1950 while on a death march from Mampo to Chungung. Cpl. Kivlehan was awarded the Purple Heart. The Cpl. Allan F. Kivlehan Chapter of the Korean War Veterans received its charter from the National War Veteran Association in 1990.
